Cristaldi Vineyards Experience the Soul of Italy… …in the Heart of the Loomis Basin.
The Cristaldi Vineyards Estate is located in the rolling hills of Loomis. The residence and winery, surrounded by the estate's vineyards and olive groves, are perched on a beautiful and rugged hillside overlooking the Loomis Basin. David, the owner and winemaker, along with his wife, Ramona, and daughters, Juliana and Ariana, have created a wonderfully authentic Italian country estate that respects and honors his deep-rooted Italian heritage.
The Estate specializes in hand-crafting limited production single-vineyard and field-blended estate wines and extra virgin olive oils, in the finest old-world tradition.
The Estate's vineyards and olive groves have been planted in such a manner as to encourage exploration while strolling throughout the estate. 15 different grape varietals and 4 different olive varietals grow on the estate, allowing for a wide array of bottlings and blends. Well-known varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah grow alongside popular Italian varietals such as Sangiovese, Dolcetto, and Barbera, and the more obscure Aglianico, Montepulciano, and Nebbiolo.
The Vineyards are farmed gently in an organic, sustainable fashion, aimed at creating a naturally balanced vineyard environment. Harvest is based on touch and smell, taste and look, rather than lab reports. The winemaking techniques utilize the natural force of gravity to promote gentle handling of the wine during its creation. Slow fermentation and lengthy ageing also contribute to allow for full expression of the vineyard in the wine.
This passion for traditional winemaking is evident in every bottle, and this philosophy promotes the right conditions to create food-friendly wines with true varietal character and a definitive sense of place.
Experience our award-winning wines and olive oils at "3Vigne", our enoteca-style tasting room, located in the Historic High Hand Fruit Shed in Loomis, open to the public every weekend from 12-5pm.
The Cristaldi Estate is open for tours and tasting by appointment only from February through November.
